Sell Your Books

Yes, I buy books. I prefer larger lots and try to stay within reasonable driving distance of the GTA. I very rarely buy without seeing the books in person first, though I'll occasionally make an exception for something I'm particularly interested in.

I'm interested in history (particularly Canadian and military), philosophy, higher level math, indigenous, natural history, aviation, and equestrian books, but I buy broadly across most non-fiction subjects. I occasionally buy fiction, but mostly classics, Canadian authors, and vintage paperbacks.

A few things worth knowing before you get in touch: I have to make a profit, so I can't pay anywhere near online retail prices. My selling prices include shipping, commission, payment processing, and a considerable amount of time spent buying, cataloguing, and selling books. My buying prices have to reflect all that.

Condition matters: I don't buy water-damaged, mouldy, or heavily worn books, and I don't buy book club editions, encyclopaedia sets, Reader's Digest condensed books, mass market paperbacks, or textbooks.

Occasionally, when someone needs to move a very large collection quickly, such as an estate or a move, I'll take the lot at no charge even if it's not something I'd pay for. I can’t always find homes for everything, and some books may end up recycled, but if you are in this situation, it is worth asking. (Please note: the same condition rules apply—absolutely no mould).

If you have a collection you'd like me to take a look at, feel free to contact me. I will generally request photos of the books (spines with titles showing are enough). If I'm interested, I will come and have a look in person and make an offer. There is no obligation.
