Irolita was a character from one of Madame d'Aulnoy's Fairy Tales titled 'Perfect Love'. It was written in 1692. The Comtesse d'Aulnoy is believed to have originated the term "contes de fées" or "fairy tales". Her works pre-date those of the much more famous Charles Perrault.
